Community Involvement

Facchina Construction of Florida, LLC and its employees believe that it is of the utmost importance to be an integral part of and to support the communities in which we work and live in through volunteering, involvement with trade assocations, charitable donations and educational causes. Some of the many efforts and initiatives that Facchina Construction of Florida and its employees have done to make a difference in their communities are listed below:

• Trade Affiliations – Facchina Construction of Florida supports many charities through various functions of local trade associations. Our employees are members, officials and board members of associations such as The Associated General Contractors (AGC), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Construction Association of South Florida, Construction Executives Association, American Society for Professional Estimators, NAIOP, Master Builders Association and the Brickell Area Association.

• Habitat for Humanity – Employees participate in Habitat for Humanity’s Women Building a Legacy program through raising donations and volunteering labor. This program is designed to help eliminate poverty housing in the community by providing volunteer labor for the building of new homes.

• Miami-Dade County Turkey Drive – Along with the South Florida construction community, Facchina Construction of Florida makes a monetary donation to provide less fortunate residents in the area with a turkey for the holiday season.

• Project Tours, School Events, and Speakers – Facchina Construction of Florida hosts tours of our on-going construction projects for students at area colleges who are studying in the construction field so that they can get a look and feel for a “real construction site”. The Facchina Construction of Florida management team also volunteer their time to speak at area colleges on aspects in the construction field and volunteer their time for various other activities to promote awareness of the benefit the Construction Industry has on the Community.

• Salvation Army Angel Tree Program – Facchina Construction of Florida employees provide gifts for the needy children in the community each holiday season through donation of new toys, clothes and bikes to the Salvation Army.

• ABC Handlebars for the Holidays – Facchina Construction of Florida makes a monetary donation and employees volunteer their time to assist the Associated Builders and Contractors with their annual give-away of over 500 bicycles to needy children in the Palm Beach/ Broward/ Dade communities of South Florida.

• ABC Community Service Committee – Facchina Construction of Florida employees volunteer their time to assist the Associated Builders and Contractors’ Community Service Committee, most recently at Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health Center in Rockville, MD. Potomac Ridge is a mental health care center that provides suicide prevention and abuse care for children and is both a residential and out patient facility. The recent project included general repainting tasks, pruning trees, planting flowers and laying mulch, building picnic tables, cleaning brickwork, removing concrete footings and light fixtures, and general cleanup.

• US Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” – Facchina Construction of Florida employees provide gifts for the needy children in the community each holiday season through donation of new toys, clothes and bikes to the US Marine Corps “Toys for Tots”.

• Secure the Call – The Bethesda Office of Facchina Construction of Florida is serving as a drop-off location for Secure the Call, a non-profit organization that collects used cell phones, cleans them up, converts them to 911 emergency-use only phones, and then provides them to area police and sheriff’s departments, women and children shelters, public safety organizations, watch groups, senior citizen centers and many other organizations.

• Salvation Army Toyland Program – Facchina Construction of Florida employees provide gifts for the needy children in the community each holiday season through donation of new toys, clothes and bikes to the Salvation Army.

• “Care and Share” program of the Children of Mine Center and “Turning the Page” - Facchina Construction of Florida annually donates toys and books to provide gifts during the holidays and to promote reading for children in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
